QueryCheck (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides a manuscript submission readiness tool for authors querying literary agents. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
When you create an account and use QueryCheck, we collect:
- Account information — your name and email address.
- Manuscript content — details you submit about your book (title, genre, word count, plot, themes, comp titles, your existing query draft, and any synopsis or excerpt you choose to paste in).
- Payment information — processed directly by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.
- Usage data — feedback you give on generated content (helpful / not helpful), submission tracking entries, and basic product analytics.
How we use your information
- To generate your readiness diagnosis, query letter, synopsis, comp titles, and pitch materials.
- To process your one-time payment and deliver your unlocked package.
- To send transactional and product emails related to your account and projects.
- To improve the quality of our diagnosis and retrieval system over time.
How your manuscript data is processed
To generate your diagnosis and submission package, your manuscript details are sent to Anthropic’s Claude API for text generation and to Voyage AI for embedding-based retrieval. These providers process your content solely to return a response to QueryCheck and do not use it to train their models on our behalf. Your manuscript content is never sold, published, or shared with literary agents, publishers, or any third party for marketing purposes.
Data storage and security
Your account and project data is stored with Supabase, using row-level security so that only you can access your own projects. We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Data sharing
We share data only with the service providers necessary to operate QueryCheck:
- Supabase — database and authentication.
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Anthropic and Voyage AI — manuscript diagnosis and generation.
- Resend — transactional email delivery.
We do not sell your personal information.
Your rights
You may access, correct, export, or delete your account and project data at any time from your dashboard, or by emailing us at hello@querycheck.co. Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, including the right to object to processing or lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to operate the service. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
Children’s privacy
QueryCheck is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll update the “last updated” date above and, for material changes, notify you by email.
